Photos from Wednesdays VSHS Challah Baking Party!

Most species can partake of their environment. However, humans are unique in the fact that they can collect from their environment and manipulate it into something even better. On shabbat, we reflect on this using the most obvious example-- flour. . .water.. .eggs,. . . yeast can make bread!
Thanks to all of the wonderful families that took part in this totally fun day!

Update for October 2010 from the Principal.

Here is the newest update from The Village Shul Hebrew School Principal, Mrs. Elana Soroka.

Hi all!

A few quick updates/ announcements:

1. Next, Oct 24th is challah baking day with the Jewish Family Institute for Morah Aliza's class-- grades 5 and 6.

The following week, Oct 31st will be challah baking day for Morah Sarah (SK/ grade 1) and Morah Chani (grade 2/3/4) 's classes.

The time has changed to 11 am-12 pm.

This is a program for children and their parents! Please confirm that you are able to attend (my apologies to those of you who will have to come twice). Siblings and grandparents also welcome.

2. Reading groups have started! All students will be bringing home their books for homework and review. Please ensure that your children "show off" every week what they have learned! The only way to truly learn a language is through the process of constant review. I promise you will see the results!

Please ensure that your child brings his/ her book back and forth each week to and from Hebrew school.

Thank you so much. May we continue to share in seeing the growth of your children together,

Elana Soroka
